D.H. Sattinger's Home Page

Professor Sattinger obtained his PhD under Norman Levinson at M.I.T. in 1965. He has held positions on the mathematics faculties at UCLA, the University of Minnesota, and Yale University. His research includes topics in stability and bifurcation theory, nonlinear partial differential equations, nonlinear waves, and integrable systems. Now retired, he is an Associate member of the mathematics faculty at the University of Arizona, and a docent at Kitt Peak National Observatory and the Steward Observatory Mirror Lab. His current research interests include history of astronomy, and nonlinear partial differential equations in cosmology and relativity.
