- Text: Introduction to the Practice of Statistics , 6th edition, by David S. Moore & George P. McCabe.
- The tutoring room offers tutoring for statistics only at certain times of day. You can find out when someone will be able to help by looking at the tutoring room schedule. For some reason I am incorrectly listed as being in the tutoring room.
Announcements
- I expect to be in my office on Wednesday and Thursday in the afternoon around 1-2pm. If I won't be there one of those times I will post a note on my door with the time I think I'll be around instead.
- Study problems are available for the final. These come with all of the usual (but very important!) disclaimers. You can download them either as ordered problems with solutions or as unordered problems without solutions.
- Final project description is available.
- Exam 3 solutions are available.
- Exam 3 sample problems are available for review. Be warned however, this is not a comprehensive study guide!
- You can read a quick write up on using t-tests on a graphing calculator. It is a bit ad hoc, but it works.
- Students who missed problem 4 on the first exam can do a supplimental assignment to make up some of the points. For those doing the assignment, it is due Monday the 27th at the start of class.
- Exam 1 will be on Wednesday, September 15th.
- For those who may still need it, the course code on WebAssign is arizona 8951 6156.
- All course announcements will be posted here in addition to any other possible forums. Students should check the course webpage frequently.

- Chapter 6 Problems: 6.14, 6.25, 6.52, 6.68, 6.78, due Wednesday, November 3rd.
- Excel assignment 5. For this assignment you will need this data file. The assignment is due on Wednesday, October 27th.
- Excel assignment 4. The data file you need to do this is here. It is due Friday, October 8th.
- Chapter 4 Problems: 4.75, 4.87, 4.106, 4.107, 4.137 due Wednesday, October 6th.
- Excel assignment number 3. The data file you need to do this is here. It is due Wednesday, September 29th.
- Excel assignment number 2. The data file you need to do this is here. It is due on Monday, September 13th.
- Chapter 2 Problems: 2.23, 2.41, 2.58, 2.73 due on Monday, September 13th.
- Excel assigment number 1. The data file you need to do this is here. If you use excel on a mac, you will also need this. Please hand in a copy of your histogram, the typed-up answers to the questions, and also a print-out of the new column you made in the spreadsheet. For part (e), you should use the power of excel to make this new data column. DO NOT compute the number of physicians in each of the 170 countries by hand with a calculator! Due Wednesday, September 8th.
