Baron in charge of the city guard. He does not like this job, and so neglects it frequently. He leaves most of the work to his son and the retired mercenary captain Gurdin Shedds. He's not particularly mean to the commoners, but he sees them as a waste of his time. His cousin sent him to be an active member in Rokmil. He has only lived in Rokmil for twenty years. As the focus of trade with the dwarves, Rokmil is seen as being very important in the capital; hence the Baron's cousin wants the Sevrin family to maintain control of as much as possible of the city.
Runs the Blue Watch. He's also an accomplished fighter. Son of a baron and cousin to a duke; he could have led a comfortable life. However, with his older brother back at the capital training to assume control of his father's estates and roll in politics Lord Sevrin found his roll in the church. He became one of the youngest students to become a Paladin in his order. He has a fair amount of talent with the sword, but what made his teachers really notice him was his analytic and problem solving abilities. He is a shrewd thinker and can see through almost any lie. The commoners like him through and through, and the dwarven merchants know they won't be subject to any prejudice when the Blue watch is around. Even the wizards who are part of the Blue watch fear the wrath of their commander. No one he has ever punished walked away feeling that it was cruel and unusual, but he has an ability to determine what is going to be the most profoundly effective punishment for each person in each scenario.
