Welcome to my webpage! I defended my dissertation in the University of Arizona's Interdisciplinary Program in Applied Mathematics on May 12, 2010. My dissertation research is on factorization in loop groups, under the supervision of Professor Doug Pickrell. The picture to the right is the alcove diagram for the exceptional Lie group G2. Alcove diagrams are related to affine Weyl groups, which come up in my research.
I recently published my first paper, Unitary loop groups and factorization, with Doug in Journal of Lie Theory. If you have a subscription to JoLT, you can access the paper online.
My second paper, A geometric interpretation and explicit form for higher-order Hankel operators, has been accepted to Rocky Mountain Journal of Mathematics.
Several versions of my dissertation are available. There are long and short versions of the full dissertation, differing only in their formatting. There is also a no frills version, which is missing abstracts, acknowledgements, and other frippery, and which may have some typographical errors not present in the other two.
If you don't have the patience for the dissertation (and who does?) you can take a look at my final oral dissertation defense presentation, which is intended for a lay mathematical audience.
