About this workshop
Participants will leave this conference with a greater understanding of the CCSSM in general as well as in depth knowledge of self-selected focus areas within the standards. This workshop is intended for an audience of teachers, administrators, and district-level personnel transitioning to the Common Core State Standards in Mathematics. Features of the program include perspective from lead author Bill McCallum as well as breakout sessions developed and led by teachers themselves. The topic of implementation of the CCSSM will be the focus of the conference, and participants will engage in creating their own activity either for a classroom or teacher training, based on a task or set of two tasks aligned to the CCSSM that teachers can immediately implement in their classroom.
Because participants will produce an activity related to a specific task aligned to the Common Core, and in order to complete research using online resources, all participants should bring a laptop or device to get online during the conference.
Registration fee is $400 for payment received prior to the conference, $500 for registrants who bring payment to the conference, but register before. Registration includes a reception on Friday, breakfast and lunch on Saturday, and breakfast plus a reception on Sunday. Checks and purchase orders accepted, or credit card payment by phone. Contact Alejandra Gaona for questions about registration fees and payment.
Please complete the registration form as soon as possible to secure your position, as our previous conferences have sold out.
