
SIAM (Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics: www.siam.org) is an international organization which hosts publications and conferences in a wide range of fields. The SIAM mission is "to
build cooperation between mathematics and the worlds of science and
technology through our publications, research, and community." SIAM
provides free student memberships to graduate students at the University of Arizona as well as funding for those chapters.
The SIAM student chapter will be hosting a variety of events this year. The purpose of these event will be to present current research at the University of Arizona, describe experiences after the program, and promote professional development. Here are types of talks you can expect this year:
Graduate students in mathematics at the University of Arizona can get student memberships for free. These memberships come with some great benefits which include:
