I study algebraic number theory, or perhaps more appropriately, arithmetic algebraic geometry. My adviser was Tom Weston. I enjoy many types of mathematics, including algebraic geometry, combinatorics, graph theory, computational geometry, and theoretical computer science. I also love games and puzzles , particularly math puzzles and word puzzles. Some of the sites below are really cool and if you like math you should check them out.
PlanetMathI am interested in Cryptography and Computational Number Theory. I am also interested in Theoretical Computation, Algorithms, and Complexity Theory. I am also interested in Artificial Intelligence, and have done some work in Robotics.
PerlI have very diverse musical interests. I particulary enjoy "indie rock" (if that means anything), punk (older stuff...not much new stuff), noise-rock, soul, funk, r&b, and of course, metal. I also enjoy a variety of electronica, jazz, hip-hop, blues, and some classical. There are just too many bands to list, but you can get a pretty good idea of what I like by going here. I also have a lot of these. Also, these are some good sites with some good free music.
Last.FMI love my bikes. I particularly love my newest road bike. It is a custom road bike, built by one of my best buds, Niall. You can see my bike and the other rad bikes that he builds by hand right in Easthampton, MA at NFG Cycles. In addition to road rides/races, I have now decided to try my hand (or more appropriately my legs) at Cyclocross. Battle scars should follow soon enough.
I am an avid rock climber, or at least I was before I sprained/fractured my ankle last fall (double meaning?). I hope to get back out there after some healing and some really boring physical therapy.
Northampton Rock WallI really love art. I like modern art as well as art from most eras and movements. I haven't the talent to pursue it myself...but I do enjoy looking at other peoples. I love Cy Twombly, Matthew Barney, Arthur Ganson, Hans Bellmer, Eva Hesse, Egon Schiele, Paul Klee, and lots more. I also have some really great friends who make some really great art. You should check out some of their stuff.
I have had five beautiful ferrets, Kida, Toby, Nora, John, and Cleo. I still have my lovely little girl Cleo, but over the years the first four have died from horrible types of cancer, due in large part to the fact that they were from Marshall Farms (even though most were adopted from rescue organizations). For those who are interested, you should know that Marshall Farms, the primary breeder in the U.S., uses horrible and inhumane breeding practices which cause many (if not most) of their ferrets to eventually develop some sort of illness, leading to premature death. Instead of purchasing a Marshall's ferret, I would highly reccomend a local breeder or adoption. I am very passionate about animal rights and the prevention of cruelty to animals. I especially love ferrets, since they are the cutest sweetest little fuzzy babies in the whole world.
