Undergraduate Service

Undergraduate Committee (Fall 2014 - Present)

I currently serve as the graduate student representative on the undergraduate committee, a committee which makes decisions on issues that affect the undergraduate students who take mathematics classes and those who are seeking a math major or minor.

Mathematical Modeling Team Mentor (Spring 2014)

The mathematical modeling class is a senior capstone class for the applied mathematics track of the math major. As a team mentor for five of these students, I advised them weekly on their project in using the tools of network theory and statistics to determine universal properties of mythological networks.

Advisor, Undergraduate Preceptors (Undergraduate TAs) (Fall 2013, Fall 2014)

I have worked with three preceptors (undergraduate teaching assistants) while teaching at the University of Arizona. Preceptors in my class have taught lessons, held problem sessions, prepared worksheets, and helped to facilitate in-class group work. The preceptor program is a valuable experience for the preceptor as well as an extra resource for the students in the class.
