Given a group G acting on a set O and a field F, the problem of determining the structure of the permutation FG-module FO has been studied extensively for many years. In particular, permutation modules as well as permutation representations for finite classical groups have received significant attention. In this talk, we present some recent results on the permutation modules associated with actions of finite classical groups on points.
