Welcome to my math department homepage. I graduated from the University of Arizona in December 2014 with a PhD in mathematics. My research interests are in number theory algorithms and Diophantine approximation (in particular, continued fractions and Littlewood's conjecture).

I did my PhD dissertation (under Marek Rychlik) on constructing simultaneous Diophantine approximations of certain pairs of cubic numbers. (More specifically: pairs of numbers from the same cubic field of negative discriminant.) I worked on an algorithm to construct arbitrarily good simultaneous approximations to such pairs of cubic numbers, a result of which is an effective proof of Littlewood's conjecture for these pairs. (I should note that this didn't actually prove anything new about Littlewood's conjecture, but there was previously no known practical method to construct arbitrarily good simultaneous approximations to these pairs of cubic numbers.)

Here is a copy of my dissertation. (In case the link is broken, another copy is at http://arxiv.org/abs/1412.3936.)

Before I came to UA, I went to Boise State University and received a bachelor's in Broadcast Technology and a master's in math.
