Assignment # Notes
1
Don't wait until the last minute!
2
sec. 3.1:  It is suggested that you also do number 32, though you do not have to turn it in.
sec. 3.2:  For #34, you only need to give the exact answers.
7
The directions for #10 are above #9.
8
For section 1.6 numbers 8 and 10, include a sentence explaining the practical interpretation of the slope in the context of the problem.
9
For section 2.1 numbers 4 and 6, find the solutions by completing the square.
12
For #48, change the last line of the directions to "How far along the the side of the stream should the transmission line be built to minimize the cost?"
13
Even though the directions say "use long division" for these, you may use synthetic division, if it applies.
15
3-10 should be done without calculators (i.e. by using properties of exponents)
17
2-8 are good review problems - they are suggested, but do not need to be turned in.  For #21 and 22, it may be helpful to review sec. 2.4
24
Even though the directions may say to, there is no need to rationalize denominators.
25
For 9-18 and 23-32, just give exact answers, not decimal approximations.
27
For 45-51, find all solutions in the interval [0,2pi), [i.e. in radians, not degrees]
28 This assignment does not need to be turned it.  You should do it for your own benefit.
