Arizona Summer

Mathematics Camp

The Arizona Summer Mathematics Camp is a two-week introduction to mathematical research for students just completing the eighth grade.  In the first week students will work on elementary research problems.  They will learn how to use the computer as a tool for mathematical exploration as they work on problems.  For the second week individuals and groups will be assigned a particular mathematical problem.  Students will solve the problem, write a report on their findings, and make a presentation to their colleagues, parents, and visitors.  At the end of the camp, each student will receive copies of all the reports written during the camp.
