    Course Descriptions

Here are course descriptions for my teaching-oriented courses. Each of these were 3-unit courses with the exception of Math 597T (1-unit course).

Math 597T  Introduction to the theory and practice of teaching lower-division college mathematics courses. This course is required of and intended only for Math and Applied Math graduate student GATs who are teaching in the Math Department for the first time.

IA 697A  Designed for graduate students who will be serving as teaching assistants/graders or who plan to pursue a career in teaching. Pedagogical issues central to teaching/learning at the college level such as learning styles, classroom climate and culture will be covered.

IA 697B  Course combines in-depth reading and discussion related to pedagogical issues in the use of technology in teaching and learning with guided, individually focused training and practice in using technology in teaching.

IA 694A  The practical application, on an individual basis, of previously studied theory and data collection for future theoretical interpretation.
